¿What is Cleocin?

Cleocin is an antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body. Cleocin is used to treat serious infections caused by bacteria. Cleocin may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

If you have diarrhea that is watery or has blood in it, call your doctor. Do not use any medicine to stop the diarrhea unless your doctor has told you to. To be sure this medication is not causing harmful effects, your blood will need to be tested on a regular basis. Your kidney or liver function may also need to be tested. Do not miss any scheduled visits to your doctor. If you need to have any type of surgery, tell the surgeon ahead of time that you are using Cleocin. * fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash. Keep taking Cleocin and talk to your doctor if you have any of these less serious side effects:
* mild nausea or stomach pain;
* vaginal itching or discharge;
* mild skin rash or itching; or
* irritation in your throat. Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
